Blackjack Surrender overview

Blackjack Surrender

Blackjack Surrender is yet another exciting variation of the traditional Blackjack game. From the very creation of the game several centuries ago somewhere in Italy, Blackjack has always been one of the most popular forms of entertainment. The game is so successful in attracting players, whether seasoned or novices, because it's titillating, fun and potentially profitable. Europa Casino players are in for a real treat with Blackjack Surrender!

In general terms, Blackjack Surrender follows the same rules as the standard Blackjack game with some minor distinctions which we will present below. The player's goal is to make a hand with the point total as close to 21 as possible, without exceeding this particular limit. In Blackjack, Aces count as either 1 or 11, face cards (J's, Q's and K's) as 10, and number cards are worth their face value.

If you are dealt an Ace and any ten-value card as your first two cards, it's considered Blackjack and you win 1.5 times your bet (if the original bet is $10, you will collect $25). If the total value of your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win your initial bet amount (if the original bet is $10, you will collect $20). If your total point value exceeds 21, you lose. In case both you and the dealer have the same point total, neither of you win. You are given the option to insure your bet against the dealer having a Blackjack. If the dealer ultimately does not have Blackjack, you forfeit the insurance amount.

Despite the great resemblance to traditional Blackjack, Blackjack Surrender boasts a number of important features that the standard game lacks. First and foremost, after the dealer takes a look at his cards to see if he has Blackjack, you are allowed to surrender on the first two cards. If you choose to surrender, you will lose 50% of your bet. The game round will then be officially over.

Other Blackjack Surrender features include: A. The player is not allowed to split a hand that was already split once. B. The player may only draw one card to split the Aces. C. The player is allowed to double after splitting. D. After each gaming round, the used cards are returned to the deck. Then, the dealer shuffles the deck.
